Zyflo® (zileuton) is a medication licensed for preventing asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 years old. By preventing the body from producing a certain chemical, the drug can improve breathing and help reduce daytime and nighttime asthma symptoms. Zyflo comes in tablet form and is available by prescription only. Potential side effects include indigestion or heartburn, nausea, and headaches.
