Zyflo CR

Zyflo CR is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. The medication comes in the form of a tablet that is taken twice a day. Zyflo CR works by preventing the body from making leukotrienes, which are certain chemicals that cause swelling and inflammation in the airways of the lungs. How Does Zyflo CR Work?

Zyflo CR belongs to a group of medications known as leukotriene synthesis inhibitors. Leukotrienes are chemicals produced by the body in response to allergens. These chemicals cause swelling and inflammation in the airways of the lungs and constrict the muscles of the respiratory tract.

Zyflo CR works by inhibiting the production of leukotrienes, which prevents the chemicals from causing asthma symptoms.

Zyflo CR Effects

In clinical studies of Zyflo CR for asthma, people taking Zyflo CR had improved breathing and needed to use a "rescue inhaler" less often, compared to those not taking Zyflo CR. This medication was also shown to be safe and effective for treating asthma in children as young as 12 years old.
