Xopenex Uses in Children

Xopenex is approved for use in children who are at least six years old. Be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about the best ways to treat childhood asthma.
 

Off-Label Xopenex Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Xopenex for treating something other than the conditions discussed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, off-label uses of Xopenex include the treatment of the following conditions:
 
  • High potassium in the blood (hyperkalemia)
  • Difficulty breathing associated with respiratory infections, such as pneumonia or the flu.
