Ventolin HFA
® (
albuterol inhaler) is a prescription drug licensed to treat and prevent airway spasms. It comes in an environmentally friendly inhaler and can be used as needed during an
asthma attack or on a daily basis to prevent attacks. Ventolin inhl is an abbreviation of
Ventolin inhaler.
You should talk to your healthcare provider before using Ventolin if you have
diabetes, an irregular heart rhythm, or
high blood pressure. It is also important to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking before starting treatment to help minimize the risk of drug interactions.
In clinical studies, the Ventolin inhaler was shown to work just as well as the older
albuterol inhalers (which are not environmentally friendly). This medicine starts working within six minutes, with the effects lasting for approximately four hours, on average.
