Ventolin HFA® (albuterol inhaler) is a prescription asthma medication that comes in the form of an inhaler. It is used for treating or preventing airway spasms, and can also be used to prevent exercise-induced asthma attacks. Some people only use Ventolin during an asthma attack, while others use it regularly to prevent attacks from occurring. Potential side effects include cough, throat irritation, and muscle pain.
