Ventolin HFA® (albuterol inhaler) is a medication licensed to treat asthma and other similar lung problems. The prescription drug works by opening up the airways and allowing more air to get into and through the lungs. Ventolin comes in the form of an inhaler and can be taken when needed and as prescribed by your healthcare provider. The dosage of Ventolin that your healthcare provider prescribes will vary depending on several factors, such as whether you are using the inhaler to treat or prevent asthma attacks, the severity of your asthma, and other medications you may be taking. Among the conditions you should let your healthcare provider know about prior to taking Ventolin are epilepsy, seizures, and heart disease.
