Symbicort® (budesonide and formoterol) is a prescription medication that can help prevent asthma attacks by reducing inflammation and opening up the airways to the lungs. The drug comes in the form of a metered-dose inhaler and is typically used twice a day. Although most people tolerate Symbicort well, the medication is not suitable for everyone. Before taking it, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medical conditions you have, as well as any other medications you are taking, including non-prescription medicines and vitamins.
