Symbicort® (budesonide and formoterol) is a prescription medication licensed for the treatment of asthma. It helps decrease inflammation and open up the airways, which can improve lung function and prevent asthma attacks from occurring. Symbicort, which comes in a metered-dose inhaler, is inhaled into the lungs twice a day. Common side effects include sore throat, headaches, and runny nose.
