Symbicort Warnings and Precautions

Before you start asthma treatment with Symbicort, warnings and precautions for the drug should be fully understood. Several side effects are possible with Symbicort, including worsening breathing problems, rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, infection, and irregular heart rhythm. Symbicort warnings and precautions also extend to those who are allergic to any components used to make the medication.

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking Symbicort® (budesonide and formoterol) if you have:

  • Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
  • Breastfeeding.
     
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are currently taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
