Symbicort® (budesonide and formoterol) is a prescription medication approved for treating asthma. It contains two different drugs -- budesonide and formoterol -- and can help improve lung function and breathing. Symbicort comes in a metered-dose inhaler that is generally used twice a day. Most people do not experience problems while using it, but potential side effects include throat pain, headaches, and runny nose.
