Qvar Use in Children

Qvar is approved for asthma treatment in children five years of age and older. Young children usually require help using the Qvar inhaler correctly. Be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about the best ways to treat childhood asthma. Inhaled steroids, such as Qvar, may slightly slow the growth of children or teenagers.
 

Off-Label Qvar Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Qvar for something other than preventing asthma attacks. At this time, using the drug to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an off-label use of Qvar.
