Pulmicort Respules 0.25 mg

Adults and children with asthma may benefit from Pulmicort® (budesonide inhalation), a prescription medication approved for preventing asthma attacks. It comes in two forms: Pulmicort Flexhaler® and Pulmicort Respules®.
 
These products are available in two different strengths, including:
 
  • Pulmicort 90 mcg Flexhaler (containing 60 inhalations, with 90 mcg per inhalation)
  • Pulmicort 180 mcg Flexhaler (containing 120 inhalations, with 180 mcg per inhalation)
  • Pulmicort Respules 0.25 mg per 2 mL vial
  • Pulmicort Respules 0.5 mg per 2 mL vial.
     
For asthma treatment in children ages 12 months to 6 years old, the recommended Pulmicort dose varies, depending upon what type of asthma medication was previously taken. The recommended doses range from Pulmicort Respules 0.25 mg once daily to Pulmicort Respules 0.5 mg twice daily.
 
For adults, the recommended starting Pulmicort dose is two inhalations of Pulmicort Flexhaler 180 mcg twice daily. The recommended dosage for children age six and older is Pulmicort Flexhaler 180 mcg twice daily.
