Pulmicort® is often prescribed to prevent asthma attacks before they start, as opposed to treating them once they occur. The medication makes it easier for people with asthma to breathe by opening up the airways, allowing more air to get into and through the lungs. It comes in two forms: the Pulmicort Flexhaler® and Pulmicort Respules®. Possible side effects of Pulmicort include sore throat, coughing, and viral infections.
