Proventil HFA Drug Interactions

When people take certain medications with Proventil HFA, drug interactions may occur. Some drugs that may interact with Proventil HFA include beta blockers (such as Zebeta), certain diuretics (such as Lasix), and tricyclic antidepressants (such as Ludiomil). Certain drug interactions with Proventil HFA may lead to serious health problems, such as dangerously low blood pressure or an irregular heart rhythm.

An Overview of Proventil HFA Drug Interactions

Proventil® HFA (albuterol inhaler) can potentially interact with a few other medicines. Some of these medicines that may lead to Proventil HFA interactions include:
 
  • Certain diuretics, such as:
  • Digoxin (Digitek®, Lanoxin®)
     
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:
