Metaproterenol Use in Children

Metaproterenol is approved for children who are at least 12 years old. It may be difficult for young children to correctly use the metaproterenol inhaler. Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about the best ways to treat childhood asthma.
 

Off-Label Metaproterenol Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend metaproterenol for treating something other than the conditions discussed above. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, there are no universally accepted off-label metaproterenol uses.
