Who Should Not Take Metaproterenol?

You should not take metaproterenol if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Alupent, metaproterenol sulfate, or any of the inactive components used to make metaproterenol. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients used to make metaproterenol.
     
  • Have an arrhythmia that causes a very fast heart rate (tachycardia).
