Asthma Home > Will My Medications React With Dulera?

One of the active ingredients in Dulera, formoterol, is a sympathomimetic medication. This means that it mimics the effects of the sympathetic nervous system. Taking Dulera with other sympathomimetic medications can increase the risk for side effects, such as high blood pressure or increased heart rate. If you use these medications together, your healthcare provider may monitor you for potentially serious side effects.
Tricyclic Antidepressants
Dulera should be used with extreme caution in combination with tricyclic antidepressants because it may result in dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension) or an irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia). Talk to your healthcare provider before combining Dulera with a tricyclic antidepressant.

Final Thoughts

It is possible that not all drug interactions with Dulera were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any specific interactions that may apply to you.
