Asthma Home > Albuterol Dosage

The albuterol dosage your healthcare provider prescribes will vary depending on several factors, such as your age, the particular albuterol product being used, the severity of your respiratory problem, and other medications you are taking. Some people take albuterol on a regular basis, while others take it only when they need it. Albuterol should generally not be taken more often than every four hours.

The dose of albuterol your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:

  • The particular albuterol product
  • Your age
  • The severity of your asthma or other respiratory problems
  • Other medications you may be taking.

As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
