Although most people tolerate albuterol well, it is not free of dangerous risks. Although side effects of albuterol tend to be minor, there are some serious side effects of the medication that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you experience problems such as anxiety, signs of an allergic reaction, or a very fast heart rate. Also, you may not be able to take albuterol if you have medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or epilepsy.
