Drug Interactions With Levalbuterol HFA

A number of medications may cause drug interactions with levalbuterol HFA, including certain diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants, digoxin, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), and beta blockers. Taking these drugs with levalbuterol HFA can decrease the effectiveness of the medicines and may lead to side effects such as dangerously high blood pressure, low potassium levels, or irregular heart rhythm.

Levalbuterol HFA Drug Interactions: An Overview

Levalbuterol HFA (Xopenex HFA®) can potentially interact with a few other medicines. Some of these medicines that may lead to levalbuterol HFA interactions include:

  • Digoxin (Digitek®, Lanoxin®)
     
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:
