Flunisolide inhalers (Aerobid^®) can potentially interact with prednisone (Deltasone^®). Combining prednisone with the flunisolide inhaler may increase the risk of side effects. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together, especially on a regular basis.

 

Since flunisolide is inhaled directly into the lungs, blood levels of flunisolide are usually low. Medications that would normally interact with flunisolide (if it were taken orally or by injection) are not likely to cause interactions with the flunisolide inhaler, due to the low blood levels of flunisolide. However, people taking a high flunisolide inhaler dosage may have higher levels of flunisolide (and may be more susceptible to drug interactions). Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about the specific drug interactions with flunisolide inhalers that may apply to you.
