Flovent® HFA is a prescription drug used to prevent asthma attacks. It is part of a class of asthma medications known as inhaled corticosteroids. "HFA" stands for hydrofluoroalkane, which is the propellant used in the inhalers. Because Flovent HFA uses hydrofluoroalkane, it is an environmentally friendly inhaler. This has replaced the old Flovent® inhaler, which contained substances that may deplete the ozone layer.
