Flovent Use in Children

Flovent is approved for the treatment of asthma in children four years of age and older. Young children usually require help using the Flovent HFA inhaler correctly. Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about the best ways to treat childhood asthma. Inhaled steroids, such as Flovent HFA, may slightly slow the growth of children or teenagers.
 

Off-Label Flovent Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Flovent for something other than preventing asthma attacks. The treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is among these possible "off-label" Flovent uses.
