Dulera Drug Interactions
Taking diabetes medications, beta blockers, or certain other drugs in combination with Dulera may cause negative interactions. Some of these reactions may lead to potentially serious side effects or decrease the effectiveness of the medications. Before taking Dulera, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other drugs you are taking, including nonprescription medications, herbal supplements, and caffeine.
Dulera® (mometasone/formoterol) is a prescription medication used to treat asthma. It is a combination of two medications -- mometasone (Asmanex®), an inhaled corticosteroid, and formoterol fumarate (Foradil®), a long-acting beta-adrenergic agonist.
Dulera may potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that may lead to interactions with this medication include but are not limited to:
- Diabetes medications, such as:
- Acarbose (Precose®)
- Chlorpropamide (Diabinese®)
- Glimepiride (Amaryl®)
- Glipizide (Glucotrol®, Glucotrol XL®)
- Glyburide (DiaBeta®, Micronase®, Glynase®)
- Insulin of any type
- Metformin (Glucophage®, Glucophage® XR)
- Nateglinide (Starlix®)
- Pioglitazone (Actos®)
- Repaglinide (Prandin®)
- Rosiglitazone (Avandia®)
- Saxagliptin (Onglyza™)
- Sitagliptin (Januvia®)
- Tolazamide (Tolinase®)
- Tolbutamide (Orinase®)
- Beta blockers, such as:
- Acebutolol (Sectral®)
- Atenolol (Tenormin®)
- Betaxolol (Kerlone®)
- Bisoprolol (Zebeta®)
- Carvedilol (Coreg®, Coreg CR®)
- Esmolol (Brevibloc®)
- Labetalol (Trandate®)

- CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
