Side Effects With Cromolyn Inhalation to Report

There are a number of possible side effects with cromolyn inhalation that you should report immediately to your healthcare provider, including, but not limited to:
 
  • Worsening of asthma
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including unexplained rash, hives, itching, and unexplained swelling.
     

Less Common Side Effects of Cromolyn Inhalation

There are other possible cromolyn inhalation side effects that occur less frequently. These cromolyn inhalation side effects occur in 1 to 3 percent of people. In the case of these possible side effects, it is difficult to tell whether they are actually caused by cromolyn inhalation itself or factors unrelated to the medication.
 
Some of these less common but possible cromolyn inhalation side effects include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Drowsiness
  • Itchy nose
  • Nosebleeds
  • Nose burning
  • Stomachache
  • Dizziness
  • Painful or frequent urination
  • Joint pain and swelling
  • Watery eyes
  • Headaches
  • Muscle pain.
     

Cromolyn Inhalation Side Effects: Final Thoughts

It is possible that you may experience some or none of the cromolyn inhalation side effects explained above. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never tried. Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects while taking cromolyn inhalation or if something "just does not seem right." While it may not be a side effect of cromolyn inhalation, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
