The budesonide inhalation Flexhaler is approved for asthma in children six years of age and older. Budesonide inhalation Respules are approved for children from 12 months to 8 years old. Young children usually require help using budesonide inhalation correctly. Be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about the best ways to treat childhood asthma. Inhaled steroids, such as budesonide inhalation, may slightly slow the growth of children or teenagers.
Off-Label Budesonide Inhalation Uses
On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend budesonide inhalation for something other than preventing asthma attacks. At this time, using budesonide inhalation to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an off-label use of budesonide inhalation.
