Maxair Inhaler
Maxair® (pirbuterol acetate) is a prescription drug used for preventing or treating bronchospasms, airway spasms that are most common in people with asthma but can also occur in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
It comes in a special inhaler that is available in two different sizes, one containing 400 inhalations and the other containing 80 inhalations. The Maxair inhaler is different from traditional inhalers, as it does not release the medication until you inhale through the mouthpiece.
You should talk to your healthcare provider before using this medication if you have an overactive thyroid, high blood pressure, an irregular heart rhythm, or congestive heart failure. It is also important to tell your healthcare provider about all other drugs you are taking to help prevent Maxair drug interactions.
(Click Maxair to find out how to use the Maxair inhaler, to learn more about the effects of the drug, and for a list of potential side effects.)
