Causes of Asthma Signs and Symptoms

Individuals with asthma signs and symptoms have sensitive airways that are affected by certain triggers that bring on these symptoms. A trigger is something that causes irritation to the airways.
 
Common triggers include exercise, dust mites, smoke, pollen, or even catching a cold. Cold, dry air generally causes asthma symptoms to be worse than warm, humid air.
