Asmanex Side Effects
Upper respiratory tract infections, headaches, and an irritated or runny nose are among the common side effects of Asmanex. Side effects that occur less often can include vomiting, insomnia, and a loss of appetite. Although most side effects are minor, some may require immediate medical attention. Notify your healthcare provider right away if your asthma symptoms are getting worse or if you notice signs of an allergic reaction.
As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Asmanex® (mometasone inhaler). However, not everyone who takes this medicine will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it well. When side effects do occur, in most cases they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Asmanex has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials. As a result, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.
In these studies, the most common side effects of Asmanex included:
- Headaches -- in up to 22 percent of people
- An irritated, stuffy, or runny nose -- up to 15 percent
- Upper respiratory tract infections (such as the common cold) -- up to 15 percent
- A sore throat -- up to 15 percent
- Painful menstrual periods -- up to 9 percent
- Muscle pain or bone pain -- up to 8 percent.
Other common side effects, occurring in 3 percent to 6 percent of people, included:
