Overdose With Albuterol Tablets

People who take too many albuterol tablets may have overdose symptoms that could include:
 
  • Chest pain (angina)
  • High blood pressure (hypertension) or low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • A fast heart rate (tachycardia)
  • Nervousness
  • Headaches
  • Shakiness (tremors)
  • Dry mouth
  • Feelings of a rapidly or forcefully beating heart (heart palpitations)
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Insomnia
  • Seizures
  • Irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias)
  • Fatigue
  • Low potassium in the blood (hypokalemia)
  • Cardiac arrest
  • Loss of life.
     
If you happen to overdose on albuterol tablets, seek medical attention immediately.

Albuterol Tablets: Storage Methods

Albuterol tablets should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. The tablets should also be stored in an airtight container.
 
Keep albuterol tablets and all other medications out of the reach of children.
 

Albuterol Tablets: What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

If you do not take your albuterol tablets as scheduled, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose of albuterol tablets.

  • Albuterol sulfate extended-release 4 mg tablets
  • Albuterol sulfate extended-release 8 mg tablets.
