Will My Medications React With Advair?
Other Long-Acting Beta Agonists
Advair contains a long-acting beta agonist and should not be used in combination with other long-acting beta agonists, as this may increase your risk of a severe asthma attack or even death.
Taking Advair and a protease inhibitor can raise the level of Advair HFA in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider before taking Advair with a protease inhibitor.
Advair should be used with extreme caution in combination with tricyclic antidepressants, since taking these medicines together may result in dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension) or an irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia). Talk with your healthcare provider before combining Advair with a tricyclic antidepressant.
