The
Advair Diskus is used differently than older inhalers. It contains small foil pockets that are filled with the medicated powder. These pockets are punctured and the powder is inhaled using your own breath.
Asthma
For
asthma treatment, the recommended
Advair Diskus dose depends on your age and other
asthma medications you have taken. For children ages 4 to 11, the recommended dose is one inhalation of the 100/50 version twice daily, about 12 hours apart. For older children and adults, Advair dosing will depend on the dose of other
asthma medications taken in the past, varying from the 100/50 Advair Diskus twice daily to 500/50 twice daily.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
People who use the Advair Diskus for treating
COPD usually use a higher dosage. The recommended Advair Diskus dose for COPD treatment is Advair Diskus 250/50 twice daily.
